Meet Dr. Auter
Dr. Dan Auter has been providing excellent orthodontic care since 1988. A native of Louisville, KY, he received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University. He then returned to his hometown to attend dental school and complete his residency in orthodontics at the University of Louisville. Desiring a small town atmosphere in which to live and raise his children, he and his wife, Julie, moved to Johnson City in 1988 to start his practice. Over the years, Dr. Auter has been active in many professional and civic organizations. He maintains membership in the American Dental Association and related regional affiliates. His membership affiliation with the Tennessee Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Orthodontics spans 23 years.
In giving back to the community, Dr. Auter has been involved with Boys and Girls Club of America’s local chapter. He is also a long-time member and deacon of Central Baptist Church of Johnson City, through which he has participated in several dental mission trips to Mexico to help patients who have no access to dental care.
Dr. Auter and his wife have been married since 1983 and have 2 children, Zachary and Melissa. In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his family as well as camping, hiking, travel and yard work.
